I was invited to wedding of Mariko and Zuiho at Dai Bosatsu Zendo. The wedding ceremony was only two days before Anniversary Sesshin. The trip to the top of mountain was very relaxed and slow. Traveling with Zuiho’s aunts from Rochester itself was fun and very comfortable.

I was very much looking to twelve days out of the noisy city, away from telephone and computer and enjoying this pristine and magic place, ceremony and sesshin.

The top of mountain greeted me with cool breeze, much needed relief after recent heat wave and oven-like apartment where I had to work every day.

I am back from Dai Bosatsu Zendo again after Samu Sesshin. During my travel back I resolved to finish this post soon and write something about this last visit. It feels good to be back and find a cool weather in the city.

Going back to the end of June –  when I arrived to DBZ a day before wedding everyone seemed tired and stressed out. Or at least this was my impression of residents. Preparing the place and food for over one hundred guests was a big job. Next day we were working again before guests arrived.

I was very curious about the wedding ceremony, expecting it more traditional than many previous Buddhist weddings I have seen in different Zen Center.

To be continued.
